We use a robust double wall corrugated cardboard.

When lids close, this becomes 4 layers.

This can be doubled to a 4/8 layer for very heavy contents.
Or simply made like Russian Dolls where one box fits neatly into the other.

Cases and boxes can be made in a variety of designs, not just the example shown. Base box can have a lid that sleeves over to form 4 layers on all sides (not shown).

We can simply supply a robust cardboard box, or take it further by lining it with foam and glue foam pads inside.

We can fit handles, straps, protective ball corners and even varnish the exterior of the case to increase it's longevity and water resistance.

Perhaps the proposed contents is seldom used then we can go a bit further and convert the case into a more long term storage and transport solution.
